FRESH MANGO SALSA
This salsa is the perfect combination of spicy and sweet. It tastes so good and fresh! I promise it goes with everything. I am a BIG fan of this sweet and savory combination. This recipe specifically is one of my favorites because it goes with everything. I don’t really want to talk too much about how in love I am with this recipe, because I want you to try it. THE PARTS OF THIS RECIPE:
Let’s start talking about vegetables. Just like a regular salsa, this mango salsa has some onions and tomatoes. I love purple onions for this recipe because of the taste, but mostly because I love the color! The bright purple gives a pop of color to this recipe.
The next vegetable can be considered a fruit as well. Avocados. The avocado is a very important part of this recipe as well! Besides the flavor, we add avocados to add that creaminess that is so characteristic of them.
Finally, Mango! The most important part of this mango salsa recipe. This fruit gives the sweetness and freshness of this recipe. Perfect! On the other hand, another fruit you will use to bring it ll together is lemons! Lemon juice brings everything together.
Finally, seasoning. I prefer to let the vegetables and fruits shine on their own, so for seasoning I add just a bit of salt and pepper. To completely bring everything together, add some chopped cilantro and you are done.
TIPS FOR A PERFECT MANGO SALSA:
Cutting the vegetables: Let’s talk about the onions first. I like to chop them up into smaller squares than the rest of the vegetables and fruits. You don’t want them to be too small but not too big either. On the other hand, mango, avocado and tomatoes can be chopped into squares. Take out the center of the tomatoes as well, you don’t want that gooey center in there.
Mixing everything in: For this recipe, you just have to add everything to a bowl and slowly and carefully stir everything to combine.
EQUIPMENT:
Chopping board: To chop and cut every vegetable and fruit!
Knife: Use the knife you are the most comfortable with. Specially for the onions, because I find those the hardest to chop into perfect squares. I use a chef’s knife for almost everything.
Bowl: You will use one bowl for everything. A medium bowl will do fine!
Lemon squeezer: This is one of my favorite kitchen toys. So comfortable and easy to use!
Spoon: A regular spoon to stir and combine everything is perfect! Remember to slowly mix everything in.
WHAT CAN YOU COmBINE THIS MANGO SALSA WITH?
Chicken: Grilled chicken tastes amazing with this mango salsa on top.
Salmon: Grilled, cooked in the air fryer or on a pan, salmon is the perfect combination for this recipe.
Chips: Just like you would with regular salsa, pour it onto a bowl and serve it just like that yo have with chips.
Fish: in general, i believe it would go great with anything. The touch of sweetness and freshness you need.
Tacos: How about making tacos, some tilapia, and this gorgeous salsa on top? Amazing.
FRESH MANGO SALSA
Ingredients
- 2/3 Cup chopped purple onion
- 1 1/3 cup mango cubes
- 2/3 cup tomato cubes
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp chopped cilantro
- 1 small avocado.
Instructions
- Chop and cut all the fruits and vegetables into small squares.
- Add everything including lemon juice, salt and pepper.
- Carefully, stir everything to combine using a spoon.
- Serve
