What makes these crispy potatoes amazing:

Let’s start talking about the most important ingredient, potatoes. You need to look for baby potatoes that are all similar sizes. If you prefer to use regular potatoes, after you boil them, you can cut them into wedges or slices. Personally, I prefer baby potatoes, they look so pretty when done.

To season the potatoes, make a combination of butter and olive oil. This combination of flavors is ideal. To that, you will add some garlic and herbs that will make the potatoes shine. I promise you will not be able to stop eating them.

And that’s basically it. These crispy potatoes don’t need much else.

Tips for perfectly crispy potatoes:

Boiling: I’ve always thought that to make crispy potatoes you just had to season and throw them in the oven for a while. They do cook like that but they don’t come out as crispy as we want them to. To make sure they do come out like that on the outside and soft on the inside you have to boil them first. You need to be able to pinch them with a fork with some resistance but not to much. Another thing I recommend doing is boiling the potatoes first and cutting them after.

Butter: You are going to melt the butter completely in the microwave. To that delicious melted butter you are going to add olive oil and seasonings. This will make the butter absorb the flavor of those delicious ingredients before adding them to the potatoes, giving them even more flavor. When you add the butter to the potatoes, stir them in. This is going to break the potatoes a bit and we want that. This will create a layer that will become the crispiest part when baked.

The potatoes: To boil the potatoes, you just have to wash them. You don’t need to peel or cut in half yet. If you don’t like the skins, you cn easily peel them easily after they are boiled. also, but them after you boil them so that they don’t absorb more water than they need.

Equipment:

Saucepan: Medium or large depending on how many potatoes you are making. You will use it to boil them.

Bowls: A smal bowl to melt the butter in and another medium or large one to place the potatoes in while seasoning them.

Wooden spoon: silicone spatula or a regular spoon. You will use it to mix the butter with the seasoning and to stir in the potatoes.

Fork: To test if the potatoes are ready while boiling.

Baking sheet: To bake the potatoes in.

Knife: To cut the potatoes in the size you like.

Measures: For all the ingredients. Tablespoons and a kitchen scale.
