When looking for a way to make Tres Leches cake EVEN better I found this recipe and fell in love!
You can use it for:
Tres Leches cakes
Strawberry tarts
On its own as a dip for fruit or cookies
Cook it for a little while longer and make it into any balls for brazilian brigadieros!
So many ways to eat this delicious filling!
EQUIPMENT:
Cooking pot: You’ll be making the filling over low heat the entire time!
Bowl or a plate: Once you’ve reached the consistency, you’ll need to transfer the mixture to a bowl or plate to chill in the fridge.
Wooden spoon: The mixture needs constant stirring! I found that using this type of spoon was the most comfortable!
CONDENSED MILK FILLING
Ingredients
- 400 ml Sweetened condensed milk
- 200 ml Milk
- 2 tbsp Powdered milk
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 2 Egg yolks
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a pot and place it over low heat.
- Keep stirring until it thickens. Don't stop stirring until you reach consistency or it can burn!
- Place it on a plate or bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Keep in the fridge until completely chilled.
