CHRISTMAS CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

CHRISTMAS CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Do you remember when you were little, it’s Christmas and all you want to do is go to sleep so that santa can come to your house and leave the presents?

The classic of classics in movies is the plate of cookies and a glass of milk for santa. You always left that for him to snack on before continuing his journey.

I always wanted to leave cookies for him. The best thing was waking up the next morning and finding just a few crumbs and an empty glass. It felt as if I gave Santa a present. Yes, I love Christmas as you can tell, since forever.

This recipe is a great activity to do with the little ones of the house! Start by separating the m&ms by color. We want to use just the red and green ones, maybe a few brown ones as well. After that is done, it’s time to make the dough. It is a pretty simple recipe, no chilling is required and as soon as you are done putting it together you can place it in the oven.

So, aprons on, hands clean and let’s start baking!

EQUIPMENT:

Bowls: Weigh and measure all of the ingredients before you start, specially if you are making this recipe with your little ones. It’s easier to have everything close and ready to use.

Cutting board: If you are using a chocolate bar instead of chips.

Knife: To chop the extra chocolate.

Cookie sheet: Place the cookies with a bit of space between them, they spread out.

Parchment paper or silat: So that the cookies don’t stick.

TIPS:

Butter: In this case, we want the cookies to spread out a bit. So, instead of using cold butter, use room temperature.

Chocolate: The chocolate in M&Ms is super sweet. I like adding a bit of extra semi sweet chocolate to balance it out. This total depends on you, if you want to just use M&Ms is totally fine as well.

Baking: Place the cookies in the oven for about 20 to 25 minutes. The baking time depends on the size or weight of your cookie. For example, the cookie in the pictures has 170 grams. This cookie took more time to bake completely that a 100 gr or 60 gr cookie.

Baking (2): Make sure you use parchment paper or something that will make the cookies not stick to the pan. Place the cookie dough balls a few inches apart to bake because they spread out and tend to stick to each other.
