BROOKIE EASTER EGG DESSERT

BROOKIE EASTER EGG DESSERT

A few years back, these kind of chocolate egg dessert started selling everywhere. It started with a few classic flavors like brownie or chocolate fudge or brigadeiro. There were some dulce de leche ones and now you can find almost every flavor you could think of. I’ve seen cheesecake, limoncello, tres leches easter egg dessert, everything! I really like this new trend because every bakery in town decided to make it better and try new things! They get better and better every year. I really love it. This broke easter egg dessert was born after being so inspired by those.

Now, every year, these dessert look and taste better and better. So yummy and elaborate. Plus, most bakeries maje their own chocolate egg as well. They use a plastic or silicone mold, tempered chocolate and everything. With all that in mind, I really wanted to make a simpler and easier version. So, in this case, I made a Brookie easter egg. What is a brookie? Its a combination of chocolate chip cookies and brownies. To this gorgeous combination, that does not really need as much, I added dulce de leche. Only to finish this perfect dessert. Keep reading and I’ll tell you the layers in this dessert.

THE PARTS IN THIS EASTER EGG DESSERT:

Start off with the chocolate egg. Most of the time, just like I mentioned before, bakeries that sell these, make them from scratch. The objective in this desert is to make it easy and and quick to make. So, instead of stressing about the chocolate tempering and right molds, just buy a chocolate egg. This will be the base for your dessert, so look for a chocolate egg you like. What I like to do is look for a milk chocolate egg shell so it combines perfectly with everything inside. This way, we just eliminated an hour worth of work and you can still edd up with a perfect dessert.

The second part is the brownie. Just like the chocolate egg, you would normally make a brownie for this dessert. So, just like the chocolate egg, buy your favorite brownie. It is way easier and quicker when you just get your favorite brownie instead of making it from scratch. Plus there are so many delicious brownies available everywhere! So just like the brownie, repeat with the chocolate chip cookie. Find your favorite chocolate chip cookie and done! No stress, no thousands of steps and a perfect dessert.

Finally, dulce de leche. Uffff, the dulce de leche has to be very delicious. My recommendation is to look for the yummiest dulce de leche that is a bit thicker than a normal dulce de leche. This way it maintains its shape when putting it together. If you use a very liquid dulce de leche, when you decorate, the cookies and everything will not stay up.

And ready! Let’s make the this dessert together!

TIPS FOR A PERFECT EASTER EGG DESSERT:

Cookies and brownies: For the easter egg filling, cut the brownie in very small pieces. You can even break it with your hands so they break into smaller pieces. Do the same thing with the cookie. You do not want to much air inside, in-between the brownie and cookie bits. But, on the other hand, you do not want them to bee smushed in either. Make sure everything finds its place and there are no air spaces in there.

Dulce de leche: You will use the dulce de leche in two consistencies. Dulce de leche on its own and a creamy version of it as well.

Decoration: To decorate the egg, you will use a couple of brownie squares, and mini cookies or cookie pieces. Justo cut everything into the size you like and add them to the egg.

STEP 1:

The first thing you will be doing is adding brownie pieces for the base of the dessert. Remember not to smash them to the bottom but not letting so much air inside either.

STEP 2:

Now, add the creamy dulce de leche. Just a thin layer of this creamy dulce de leche. In the recipe card, I will tell you how to make this creamy deliciousness. In this step, you can add a bit of extra dulce de leche on its own as well.

STEP 3:

Add the cookies. Remember, in pieces, but don’t smash them down!

STEP 4:

Now, there is another layer of creamy dulce de leche, not too thin but not too thick either.

STEP 5:

Finally, Decoration! Start with some type of design made with the dulce de leche. You can do that, or just spread with a spoon. Finally cookies and brownies. And done! A brookie easter egg dessert made so easy and quick!
