BAKED GARLIC POTATO WEDGES
I LOVE french fries.
Really, I think I can call them my favorite food. All their shapes, colors and flavors are perfect. The best side to an amazing burger is crunchy fries.
I’m a fan.
The only problem I find with fries is that making them is messy and the absorb too much oil. So much to clean afterwards. This recipe is for baked garlic butter “fries”. I don’t think you get to call them fries if you bake them though. Amazing crunchy exterior and a soft center make for the best, full of flavor bite.
THE POTATO:
The first thing you’ll do is chose the potatoes!
I recommend finding similar sized ones so that the wedges are kind of the same size and bake evenly.
I like leaving the skin on, it gives the wedges more of a rustic look.
SEASONING:
Few ingredients, a lot of flavor!
Butter, oregano, fresh thyme and garlic. Add a bit of salt and pepper and you’re done!
You want the butter to be filled with flavor before even touching the potato wedges. In order to do that, start by chopping the thyme and garlic into small pieces. Add butter, thyme, garlic and oregano to a pot over low heat and melt the butter. Simmer for a few minutes and that’s it! It’s ready.
BAKING:
Preheat the oven at 425F.
Spread the potato wedges evenly on a pan. With a silicone brush, paint the potatoes with the melted butter and use a spoon to scoop out the remaining garlic and seasoning to place on top of the wedges. This gives it even MORE flavor.
Add salt and pepper on top and bake for about 40 minutes to 1 hour until crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Once the potatoes start to brown a bit you can start pinching them with a fork or cutting a bit to try! Once you reach the crispy outside and it’s fully cooked on the inside, remove from the oven an let cool a bit.
